Fact

You should consider having the air ducts in your home cleaned if:
  • There is substantial visible mold growth presenting in hard surface (e.g., sheet metal) ducts or on other components of your heating and cooling system.
  • Ducts are infested with vermin (e.g., rodents or insects).
  • Ducts are clogged with excessive amounts of dust and debris and/or particles are actually released into the home from your supply registers.
  • The house has no record of air duct cleaning ever before or/and within 5 years of residence.

Solution

It is important to keep in mind that dirty air ducts are only one of many possible sources of particles that are present in homes. When you have your yearly gas heating system tuned up, this is the best time for you to ask the technician if your air ducts need to be cleaned.
While performing the furnace tune up, our technicians will be able to see and show you if there are any signs of mold, dust and dirt accumulated in the system. Cleaning the air duct helps to improve the indoor air quality and is especially helpful to those with airborne allergies.
